I’m happy to share that I successfully cleared my PMP certification on 26th February 2026! After a span of 15 years in my career, this is one of the first certification programs I decided to pursue — and it has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The journey not only refreshed my knowledge but also deepened my interest in project management. I’m excited to explore and apply more structured project practices going forward. As I pen my thoughts on my recent achievement (PMP Certification), here are some things which helped me immensely during the journey: My PMP Certification Journey: From Decision to Success After years managing projects informally, I decided to pursue the PMP certification to sharpen my skills and gain global recognition. Here’s a quick snapshot of my preparation journey: 🔹 Eligibility check & commitment: Confirmed my experience and enrolled in a 35-hour PMP prep course. 🔹 Study plan: Dedicated 1 hour weekdays + 4 hours weekends over 10 weeks. 🔹 Core study: Focused on PMBOK Guide & Rita Mulcahy’s book to grasp processes and knowledge areas. 🔹 Practice: Took multiple mock exams, sharpening my situational judgment skills. 🔹 Agile & Hybrid: Adapted to new exam focus by studying Agile practices deeply. 🔹 Exam day: 180 questions, 230 minutes — mentally exhausting but rewarding. 🎉 The result? I passed with Above Target in all but 1 domain! This journey taught me that PMP isn’t just a test of knowledge — it’s a transformation in how you think and lead projects. If you’re considering PMP, make a plan, stay consistent, and trust the process. Also, it’s really important to have a mentor on this journey. Thanks to Vasu Rao for all the guidance & motivation.
